Astro Bot: Stellar Speedway DLC: The Mini-Review

Overview

Astro Bot: Stellar Speedway DLC is a fun, albeit simple, free DLC expansion for Astro Bot. With 5 short levels, the DLC adds some extra fun to an already great campaign, but it disappears as quickly as it arrives. It’ll be a fun extra challenge for newcomers, but a very short return for players who’ve already completed the game.

The Positives

Astro Bot: Stellar Speedway continues the great run of levels established by Astro Bot's main game content, making speedrun levels genuinely enjoyable to play. There's something satisfying about jumping into these quick, tightly designed stages and trying to shave off a few seconds with each attempt.

This time around, they've introduced a few new Bots to collect, which serve as a cool nod to some of PlayStation’s newer franchises, such as Stellar Blade, Helldivers, and Rise of the Ronin. This is a nice way of showing appreciation for the broader PlayStation lineup while giving fans an extra incentive to search for them.

And, since these are speedrun levels, there is definitely some replay value here. You will likely find yourself replaying them a few times to beat your best time, or maybe even climb the leaderboard and show off to your friends. It's a short but sweet experience that still offers a fun way to return to the world of Astro.

The Negatives ⚠️

The DLC’s runtime is really short—most players will probably finish it in around 20 minutes, making it more of a quick detour than a full-blown side quest. With only five levels, and all of them reusing environments from the base game, it doesn’t quite deliver the same memorable or exciting feel that some of the original levels had.
