Score: 9.5 out of 10

The Positives

Stunning Animation: Every frame bursts with color, detail, and life, this is the Mushroom Kingdom like we’ve always imagined it;

Faithful to the Games: Power-ups, warp pipes, platforming sequences, and a kart-racing segment? This movie gets Mario;

Jack Black as Bowser: Scene-stealer. His performance is both menacing and hilarious, and Peaches is an instant classic;

Nostalgia Overload: Easter eggs, references, and deep-cut nods to Mario history make every scene a treat for longtime fans;

Pacing & Energy: It’s a fast, fun ride from start to finish, never overstaying its welcome;

Epic Soundtrack: The mix of orchestral Mario themes and licensed tracks (minus Thunderstruck, maybe) keeps things lively.

The Negatives ⚠️

⚠️ Simple Story: While charming, the plot is straightforward and doesn’t take many risks, more depth wouldn’t have hurt;

⚠️ Some Voices Take Getting Used To: Chris Pratt’s Mario isn’t as bad as feared, but it still might not be everyone’s favorite take on the character;

⚠️ Could’ve Used More Luigi: While he plays a key role, Luigi spends too much time sidelined, more Mario Bros. moments would’ve been great.
