Astro Bot: Vicious Void DLC: Part II (2025): The Mini-Review
Overview
Astro Bot: Vicious Void (Part II) DLC is the best DLC package yet. A combination of challenging and rewarding levels elevate (once again) why Astro Bot deserved that Game of the Year award. The new bots also (once again) shine some light into the past and future of PlayStation games. Vicious Void (Part II) is Astro Bot perfection!
Score: 10 out of 10
The Positives ✅
Vicious Void (Part II) is impeccable in terms of level design. All four levels (we'll talk about the fifth and final level in a bit) are a perfect blend of challenge and fun. These were probably the hardest batch of levels I've played in Astro Bot but, what could have turned into a frustrating endeavor, turned into the most fun I've had with Astro Bot since the game's launch.
But let's talk about the bright star of this collection of games: the fifth and final level, Megamix Mastery. The mix of different abilities worked perfectly to create one of the most challenging (if not the hardest) levels in the entire game. It clearly felt like a test of the abilities you've come to learn throughout the game and it creates a new high mark for the franchise. This is what we expect from a perfect Astro Bot level. A round of applause for Team Asobi for yet another stellar expansion.
The bots also continue their streak of great cameos with the clear spotlight going to Atsu, the lead in the upcoming Ghost of Yōtei.
The Negatives ⚠️
I literally have nothing to say here other than I wish there was more Astro Bot content to play right now ahaha.
